15th Sunday in Ordinary Time

Dear Friends,

We welcome Fr. Bill Dobson and Fr John Heley who will be saying Mass for us in Fr. Tony’s absence on holiday.

This week it is the turn of St Anthony’s on the Diocesan Cycle of Prayer when we are asked to pray particularly for vocations to the Priesthood and to religious life.

The Catholic Women’s League meet this Wednesday, 18th July, at 7 pm in the Presbytery. Rev’d Canon David Sharp will talk about his Yorkshire childhood. All welcome.

There will be no meeting in August.

Please continue to pray for Fr. Ben Grist, one of our students at Oscott College in Birmingham who is very ill. He was Ordained to the Priesthood last week. Copies of a letter from him are at the back of Church

FAKENHAM CARNIVAL 25TH AUGUST. Churches Together will have a Carnival Tent for each Church to provide a free [Church subsidised] craft, games etc. If you have any ideas please contact Sheila Bamford on 01328 862217 as soon as possible.

The “Singles” group will meet this month for lunch on Thursday, 26th July, at The Oak Inn on Oak Street (12.30 for 1.00 pm). Parking available at Tesco’s car park.

Please let Janet know, at least two days before the lunch date, if you intend to be there as numbers have to be given in then.

Next Sunday, 22nd July, is the National Grandparents Pilgrimage at the Chapel of Reconciliation at Walsingham, celebrating Sts. Joachim and Anne, the grandparents of Jesus. It begins with Mass at 12. noon, celebrated by Rt. Rev. John Hine, Auxiliary Bishop of Southwark. During the afternoon there will be the Crowning of Our Lady, and fun and games for the children, including a bouncy castle.

Weekly Collection: Loose £207.25. Gift Aid £259.00, Total £466.25. Apostleship of the Sea £174.30. Our weekly need is about £500. 1/3 of our money goes to the Diocese. Many thanks for the good collection. Please plan your giving before Mass and be as generous as you can. If you pay tax please covenant, as we receive another 25p in the £1.
