Post date: Jul 27, 2012 4:46:24 PM

Dear Friends,

Today is Day of Life Sunday and there will be a collection for The Anscome Bioethics Centre and other Life Charities supported by the Catholic Bishops of England and Wales

Fr Ben Grist, recently Ordained Priest is very ill. Please pray for him.

A YEAR OF FAITH Pope Benedict has announced a Year of Faith inviting Catholics to seek new ways of proclaiming it. The Year of Faith will open on 11th of October, the 50th anniversary of the ”Second Vatican Council” and the twentieth anniversary of the publication of “The New Catechism of the Catholic Church”. It coincides with a gathering of Bishops from across the world for a Rome Synod on “THE NEW EVANGELISATION FOR THE TRANSMISSION OF THE CHRISTIAN FAITH”. We are called to rediscover and study the fundamental content of the faith. Much more on this later.

FIRST HOLY COMMUNION. Any Parents whose Children will be 8 years old next year and would like them to be prepared for FIRST Communion, please see Fr Tony.

FAKENHAM CARNIVAL 25TH AUGUST. Churches

Together are to be involved, possibly with a children’s activity area. We hope to be part of this in some way and are looking for ideas.

THE CHRISTMAS SHOE BOX. I am sure you already know that there is power in a simple shoe box gift. But this goes far beyond just putting a smile on a child’s face. In fact, a shoebox is actually a powerful tool for global mission, helping your church reach children with the Gospel overseas and at home.

CWL will be organising this year’s collection at St Anthony’s with leaflets going out mid September and the boxes collected late October. Let us try to beat last year’s 74 boxes.

Please start thinking about it now. Many thanks. Janice McLaren.

Weekly Collection: Loose £140.28, Gift Aid £306.80, Total £447.08. Our weekly need is about £500. 1/3 of our money goes to the Diocese. Please plan your giving before Mass and be as generous as you can. If you pay tax please covenant, as we receive another 25p in the £1. For more details contact Covenant Officer John Morling on 01328 700575.

I am always available to visit you at home, bless the house etc.

Fr. Tony Webb.
