Ascension of The Lord

Today is Ascension Day and World Communications Day. There will be a second collection for the Catholic Communication Network.

The next SINGLES LUNCH will be at The Q Bar, Fakenham, this Thursday, 16th May, 12.30 for 1 pm. If you wish to attend, please telephone Jose Gilson on 01485 528495

CATHOLIC WOMEN’S LEAGUE.   Wednesday, 15th May “A Day together with Mary” at the Shrine of Our Lady of Walsingham. From 11 am (Confessions) to 4 pm. (Benediction). Cost £2. Bring own lunch or eat at Shrine café. 

Our CWL meeting has been moved to Wednesday, 22nd May at 2.30 pm in Christine Nowak’s home at 7 Woodlands, Hayes Lane, Fakenham. For more information contact Janet McLaren  (01328 862356) or Pat Evans (01328 863913) 

Christian Aid Week, 12th – 19th May. The main day of activities will be on Thursday, 16th May at the Parish Church with bric-a-brac, plant, grocery tombola stalls and refreshments. Any donations to these stalls will be gratefully accepted. Contact Diane on 01328 863935

THE MARRIAGE [Same Sex Couples] BILL will have its final vote in Parliament about May 20th. After that it will be debated in the House of Lords. You are asked to contact your M.P. TO OPPOSE THE BILL, BY LETTER, EMAILS OR PHONE CALLS, IN THE WEEK OF 13-17th May. You will find a leaflet at the back of the church to read at home. 

CATHOLIC CLOTHING GUILD, FAKENHAM BRANCH I am pleased to report that I took to the Guild AGM in Newmarket, 334 garments and knee blankets, all sorted and labelled for the three charities who would collect them from the meeting. Donations and subscriptions and monies from Bring and Buy came to £79.50. Thank you all for your support and generosity. We also welcomed two new members this year. Thanks to Fr Tony for the loan of the kitchen and dining room for coffee after Mass. Diane Stanley - Secretary
