Feast of the Holy Family

Dear Friends, 

Please pray for the repose of the soul of Father Peter Wynekus who died on Thursday, December 20th. His funeral is on January 4th at St Thomas of Canterbury, Woodbridge.

I wish you all a very Happy New Year. My many thanks to you all for your Christmas Cards and contents, for the many presents and for the Christmas Collection.

My many thanks again to all who prepared for Christmas. Also my thanks to all of you who do so much work for the Parish over the year, from cleaning and flowers to gardening, religious instruction, sacristy, the office, the rotas, communion to the sick and much more. It is difficult to mention everybody by name.

WE NEED HELP with counting the collection and arranging the flowers in Church. If you can help please contact Fr Tony. We also need a new Organist, can you help please? 

SACRED HEART SCHOOL SWAFFHAM Please see notice in Church to attend introduction and assessment days on 16th, 17th and 18th of January, including Scholarships and Awards etc. More info available from Fr Tony. 

CHURCHES TOGETHER. Songs of Praise with the Fakenham Town Band and the Parish Church Choir. Sunday, 20th January at 6.30 pm at Fakenham Parish Church, to celebrate the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity.

An invitation to all young people. The New Year Epiphany Candlelight Mass for young people across the diocese is on January 5th, 6pm at The White House, Poringland. All the family welcome. Mass is followed by refreshments, a bonfire and fireworks. More information at the back of the church or go to www.catholiceastanglia.org/youth.

FIRST HOLY COMMUNION CLASSES ARE ON THURSDAY AT 5.30-6.30 pm IN THE PRESBYTERY. PLEASE BRING YOUR CHILDREN ON TIME AND STAY FOR THE HOUR WITH THEM, TO HELP WITH THE HOMEWORK. THE DATE OF THE NEXT CLASS SOON.

I have been asked by Ian Bridge, son of Jean Bridge, to inform you that Jean passed away on 19th of November. Jean was a parishioner at St Anthony’s from 1978 till 2001. Please remember her in your prayers.
