“This Church means so much to me and the many who visit it. Some come regularly, others when they need help at particular times during crises in their lives. Please help us continue that important work.”
There are many ways to help and here are two ways you might want to consider
By making a one-off donation
• Are you able to make a one-off donation towards a particular urgent piece of work?
A donation in memory of a loved one
• Would you like to make a donation in memory of a loved one/ significant event such as an anniversary?
Yours sincerely.
Chair, St Anthony of Padua Fabric Appeal
St Anthony of Padua Catholic Church has stood in Fakenham for nearly 120 years, welcoming the people of the town and the surrounding area as well as visitors to this beautiful part of Norfolk.
We now need to raise £45,000+ for urgent work to maintain our Church & Presbytery and ensure that it is there to provide support for the next 120 years.
Some examples of what we need to do now are:
• Exterior Brick work = £15,000
• Window Repairs ~ £20,000+
• Guttering Replacement = £5,000
• Tree survey / Pollarding = £3,000
• Interior decoration and renewal for fixtures & fittings = £3,000
We would be grateful for any help you can offer to help support us, whether you are a regular attender, friend or visitor to this corner of Norfolk.
Thank you to those who already give so much of your time, talents and money. You help ensure we function for everyone.
However…
We need at least £500 a week to ensure St. Anthony’s can meet its day-to-day running costs -
But..
This is not enough for our small congregation to be able to build up a much-needed building / fabric fund.
We want to keep our Church, a parish in the Catholic Church, open to EVERYONE
Our Church is open to everyone: regular worshipers, visitors and those holidaying in this beautiful area, as well as those coming to us for help in difficult times. Please consider how you too might be able to help.
If you are considering leaving a gift in your will, please check the diocesan guidelines. If you wish your gift to go specifically to St. Anthony’s, you must specify this in your document.
The necessary wording to make sure this bequest happens in accordance with your wishes is in the guidelines.
Gift Aid is a government scheme which lets us claim an extra 25p for every £1 you donate, effectively making your donation worth 25% more!
It does not cost you anything extra to sign up to Gift Aid. This is because as a UK taxpayer you have already paid tax on the money you’re donating. A Gift Aid Form can be found here
Full details of planned events will appear in our weekly parish newsletter and on our parish website
Please help us maintain our Church and its mission to the people of both Fakenham and the surrounding area by supporting our future fundraising events which will include
• Buy a Brick Campaign
• A Parish Raffle
• Donating spare loose cash
You can also help us by donating a raffle prize for one of our events.
If you are able to offer support in any way please contact the Parish Office at office@catholicfakenham.org.uk
